Warrant Issued for Soap Star Sean Kanan over DUI
A Los Angeles Superior Court has issued a warrant for the arrest of soap opera actor Sean Kanan, for failure to appear in court for a DUI progress hearing. Kanan, who stars on "The Bold and the Beautiful," has two prior DUIs: one in 1998 and one in August of last year. Last December, Kanan pleaded no contest to DUI and was sentenced to five years probation and an alcohol education program. According to news reports, he has also failed to appear on the set of the television show.
Canada's Mark Bell Won't Go to Jail for NHL DUI
The Canadian Press has reported that Toronto Maple Leafs' Mark Bell was sentenced to a jail work program for his August DUI. Bell pleaded no contest to DUI and hit and run charges last summer after reportedly fleeing the scene of an accident in 2006. Bell was suspended from the National Hockey League for 15 games after the incident. Bell will work eight hours daily in prison from June 2 to August 15.
Hulk Hogan's Son Nick Sentenced to 8 Months for DUI Crash
The Associated Press has reported that Nick Hogan, son of wrestler Hulk Hogan, was sentenced to eight months in jail for a DUI car crash that seriously injured a passenger in his car. Nick Hogan, whose real last name is Bollea, 17, was immediately taken into custody after the sentencing. The crash last August injured John Graziano, a friend of Bollea, whose family recommended up to one year in jail. Bollea's blood alcohol content level was .02 at the time of the crash, which is illegal because he is a minor. The legal blood alcohol level for adults is .08 in Florida.
Carmelo Anthony Follows Colorado DUI with a Speeding Ticket
Three weeks after his DUI arrest, Denver Nuggets All Star Carmelo Anthony was cited for speeding in Denver, allegedly for driving 60 mph in a 45-mph zone. Anthony was arrested in late April after failing a roadside sobriety test after he was stopped on a Colorado interstate. He will appear in court for a Colorado DUI hearing in June. Anthony will not have to appear in court for the speeding ticket.
Rocker Scott Weiland Goes to Jail for DUI
Velvet Revolver and Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland has begun serving his eight-day DUI jail sentence in a Van Nuys, California jail. Weiland was arrested in December for California DUI and sentenced in late April to more than a week in jail and an alcohol education program. Weiland was reportedly asked to leave Velvet Revolver after his California DUI cause immigration issues . He has subsequently reunited with the Stone Temple Pilots.

Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora Takes DUI Plea Deal; Skates on Other Charges
Rock star Richie Sambora has reportedly pleaded no contest to driving with a blood alcohol content above .08 and has skipped out on child endangerment and DUI charges. Sambora was arrested in California last month for DUI while his daughter and another minor were riding in the car with him. His blood alcohol content was reportedly .13, which is above the California legal limit of .08. According to news reports, prosecutors dropped other charges against Sambora in exchange for the no contest plea. Sambora was sentenced to three years probation and an alcohol education class. He is ordered to not drink or do drugs for three years. This was his first DUI arrest.
Driver Arrested for DUI after Crash with Sandra Bullock and Jesse James
The driver who crashed into a car with actress Sandra Bullock and Jesse James in it has been charged with DUI and has already pleaded not guilty to the charge. Lucille Gatchell, 64, of Gloucester, Massachusetts, reportedly crashed her vehicle head-on into a vehicle in which Bullock and husband Jesse James were riding. According to Entertainment Tonight news, Gatchell's blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit. No serious injuries were reported. Gatcvhell will appear in court for a pre-trial hearing on June 6.
Wisconsin State Senator Randy Scott Arrested for DUI
The Dorchester County, Wisconsin Sheriff has reportedly arrested Wisconsin State Senator Randy Scott for DUI. According to police reports, Scott was stopped after he was spotted driving erratically and police smelled alcohol on his breath. Scott reportedly failed a field sobriety test but passed a breathalyzer test. The sheriff's department claims Scott did not provide "adequate sample" while Scott's attorney, Reese Joye, is calling the arrest "politically motivated." Scott and the county's Sheriff have a longstanding conflict, according to Nash. "It's no secret that I never got along with him," said Scott.
Jockey Patrick Valenzuela Finally Appears at DUI Hearing
Former Kentucky Derby winner Patrick Valenzuela has finally appeared in a San Bernardino County Superior Court, three weeks after missing his last DUI hearing. An arrest warrant had been issued for Valenzuela after he failed to appear in court in late March. Valenzuela was arrested last December for DUI in Upland, California and pleaded not guilty in February. He is the winner of the Kentucky Derby in 1989, seven Breeders' Cup wins, and other noted horse races. A jury trial has been set for May 19.

Lane Garrison Will Warn Teens about DUI after Jail
People magazine has reported that actor Lane Garrison, now in jail for DUI vehicular manslaughter, will devote his time to warning young people about drinking and driving. Garrison's attorney, Harland Braun—who was possibly more famous than Garrison before Garrison's DUI—reportedly said, "He will never forget what happened and he will have to learn to live with the guilt." Garrison was sentenced to 40 months in jail after a 2006 car crash killed a 17-year old Beverly Hills High School Student.
Rocker Richie Sambora Faces Child Endangerment Charges after DUI
Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora will face charges of child endangerment, in addition to his DUI. Sambora was arrested for DUI while driving with his 10-year old daughter, another minor, and his girlfriend. If Sambora is found guilty of both charges, he will likely face jail time. His arraignment is set for May 7.
Denver Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony Arrested for DUI
Carmelo Anthony, an all-star forward for the Denver Nuggets, was arrested for suspicion of DUI by Colorado State Police after a winning Denver Nuggets game. Anthony reportedly failed a road sobriety test after being pulled over on Interstate 25 in Colorado. He reportedly took a blood test, but the results were not yet available. Anthony's attorney, Dan Recht, issued an apology to "his fans, the Denver community, his teammates and the Nuggets organization for the distraction this is causing them." Anthony's court hearing is set for May 14.
Mischa Barton Pleads No Contest to DUI, As Expected
As expected, Mischa Barton's attorney has pleaded no contest to DUI charges against her. Barton was arrested last December in Hollywood for misdemeanor DUI and driving without a license. She was not present in court when her attorney, Anthony Salerno, entered her plea. According to Salerno, Barton will be fined $2,000, placed on a three year probation, and will attend an alcohol education class as part of a plea deal. Barton was quoted earlier this year as saying, "I'm really disappointed in myself…I don't intend to do something this stupid again."
La Mesa California Mayor's Companion Pleads Not Guilty to DUI
Trisha Turner has pleaded not guilty to the year's first really-strange, almost-famous DUI case. Turner was found passed out at the wheel of a running SUV owned by Art Madrid, the mayor of La Mesa, California. Madrid was found nearby, passed out on a sidewalk. Madrid was reportedly quoted as saying he was "shocked" that Turner was charged with a DUI. He has not been charged with any crime. Turner could spend up to six months in jail if convicted. Meanwhile, city officials in La Mesa have hired an independent investigator to determine whether police gave the mayor special treatment.
Nickelback's Chad Kroger Skips Court; Found Guilty of DUI
Nickelback rock star Chad Kroger was reportedly found guilty of DUI after he skipped a court appearance in British Columbia. Kroger was arrested by Surrey, British Columbia police for speeding and charged with DUI in June 2006. Kroger's attorney had argued that police had illegally obtained breath samples, however a judge dismissed those claims and found Kroger guilty. He is scheduled for sentencing on May 1.

Mischa Barton Expected to Take DUI Plea Deal
Actress Mischa Barton will reportedly accept a DUI plea deal for her December DUI arrest. In exchange for pleading no contest to the DUI charge, Barton will reportedly get off the hook for her possession of marijuana charge and will get a reduced charge for driving without a license. She'll reportedly get three years of probation and an unknown amount of fines, and will also have to attend an alcohol education class.
Former Cardinal Scott Spiezio Pleads Guilty to DUI Charges
Former St. Louis Cardinals player Scott Spiezio pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI and hit-and-run charges in a California court room. Spiezio was dropped from the Cardinals after he was arrested last December for crashing his car in Irvine, California and allegedly leaving the scene of the accident. Spiezio then reportedly punched a neighbor when he returned home to his condo. Prosecutors dropped assault charges in exchange for pleading guilty to the DUI charge. Spiezio must attend two AA meetings, serve 80 hours of community service and pay more than $800 in fines. He will get three years of probation for the incident.
Former WWE Wrestler Andrew "Test Drive" Martin Arrested for DUI
The Tampa Tribune has reported that former WWE wrestler Andrew "Test Drive" Martin has been arrested for Florida DUI and driving with a suspended or revoked license. Martin was reportedly driving "recklessly" on Interstate 275 in Florida when Florida State Police stopped him. Martin reportedly failed field sobriety tests even though police reports stated that he did not smell of alcohol. Martin refused to take a urine test. He was released on $500 bond.
Home Foreclosure for Repeat DUI Offender Tamara Mitchell Ford
The Memphis Daily News has reported that Tamara Mitchell-Ford is now facing foreclosure on her home in addition to multiple DUI charges. The former wife of John Ford, a former Tennessee state Senator, is currently in jail for multiple DUI convictions and probation violations. This is the second foreclosure notice Mitchell-Ford has received in the past year. Mitchell-Ford will likely remain in jail until May of this year for her DUI arrests.
Broncos' QB Jay Cutler Cuts Down Marshall for DUI, Injury
The Denver Post has reported that Denver Broncos Quarterback Jay Cutler won't cut any slack for troubled teammate Brandon Marshall's DUI and recent physical injuries. "He's not my favorite person right now," Cutler allegedly told reporters. "It's always something with him right now and you can't have that. It's disappointing…it's a trust issue." Cutler was referring to Marshall's recent DUI arrest and then his subsequent inexplicable injuries to his right arm, in which Marshall said his arm fell into his television.

Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was arrested in Laguna Beach, California for misdemeanor DUI. Sambora was reportedly stopped by police for erratic driving and failed field sobriety tests and a blood test. Sambora is scheduled to appear in court May 7. Sambora's daughter Ava, 10, was reportedly in the vehicle when Sambora was arrested.
Warren Moon's DUI Trial Set for June 10
The Seattle Times has reported that former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Warren Moon appeared in a Kirkland, Washington municipal court for a pre-trial hearing for his DUI arrest last December. Moon reportedly refused sobriety tests at the time of his arrest and pleaded not guilty to the charges. He will reportedly go to trial on June 10.
Scott Weiland Kicked Out of Band After DUI, Immigration Woes
The rock band known as Velvet Revolver has announced that singer Scott Weiland was voted off their island, saying Weiland's "increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on." Weiland was reportedly blamed for the band's inability to perform four scheduled tour dates in Japan last December, when Japanese immigration officials denied the band entry to the country because band member backgrounds included arrests. Weiland was then was arrested for DUI in December after a car crash in Los Angeles, California.
Donald Sutherland Speaks Out on Son Kiefer's DUI
Actor Donald Sutherland reportedly said that he wrote to his son Kiefer Sutherland nearly every day when the younger Sutherland was in jail for violating probation on a DUI. Daddy Sutherland said, "Jail was tough for him. He had 48 days inside...it was very, very cold." Kiefer Sutherland reportedly was allowed 14 minutes per day for phone calls. Kiefer Sutherland was arrested for DUI last September after making an illegal u-turn. He was on probation for a prior DUI in 2004.

Broncos' Brandon Marshall Gets New DUI Court Date
The Colorado Springs Gazette has reported that Brandon Marshall of the Denver Broncos pleaded not guilty to DUI charges against him. Marshall was arrested in late October and pleaded not guilty in December. A Denver County Court rescheduled his next court appearance for June 18. Marshall appeared in court with a cast and sling on his right arm, claiming he'd stumbled into his television and his arm "went right through the TV."
Mickey Rourke Takes Plea Deal for Scooter DUI Arrest
If comedian Bill Murray can get arrested for DUI while driving a golf cart, then actor Mickey Rourke can get one for driving a scooter. Rourke pleaded guilty to reckless driving in Miami Beach, Florida as part of a DUI plea deal. Rourke and a female companion were stopped for weaving while driving a Vespa scooter. Rourke's breathalyzer test was found to be under the legal limit of .08 in Florida. About his female companion, Rourke had this to say: "I have no idea who she was. I met her in a bar and never saw her again." Rourke was sentenced to six months probation, 50 hours of community service, and an online driving course.
La Mesa, California Mayor Art Madrid and Friend in DUI Wrangle
Trisha Kristine Turner, 34, was charged with drunken driving after she was found slumped in the driver's seat of La Mesa, California Mayor Art Madrid's vehicle while the engine was running. Madrid was found lying nearby on the sidewalk. According to the District Attorney's Office, Madrid, 73, has not been charged for the incident. Police reportedly found the couple after a tip was called in to 911. Field sobriety and blood alcohol content tests were not given to the pair. After learning of the recent charges, Madrid commented to a reporter, "Are you kidding me? I am really shocked." Turner was unavailable for comment. Madrid has been Mayor of La Mesa, California since 1990.
Cop Who Shot Steve Foley Is Honored for DUI Arrests
If you shoot a celebrity in California, you sometimes get an award for it. Coronado, California cop Aaron Mansker was honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for being an "Outstanding DUI Officer of the Year." In 2006, Mansker followed former San Diego Chargers linebacker Steve Foley to his home and shot him after a confrontation. Foley subsequently filed a lawsuit against the city of Coronado, claiming he was unjustly shot. Mansker was not reprimanded for the shooting.
Jim Leyritz Visits Yankees Clubhouse While Facing Felony DUI Charges
Former New York Yankee Jim Leyritz visited with former Yankees team members in Florida while facing DUI manslaughter charges there. Leyritz was charged with DUI manslaughter after a December car crash in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida that killed a 30-year old mother of two. Blood alcohol content for Leyritz was reportedly twice the legal limit of .08 in Florida.

Actor Thomas Jane, Patricia Arquette's Husband, Arrested for DUI
Actor Thomas Jane, who is married to "Medium" star Patricia Arquette, has been arrested for DUI, according to the California Highway Police. Jane, 39, was reportedly stopped for speeding in Kern County, California and booked on DUI, having a blood alcohol content higher than .08, and possession of drugs without a prescription. Jane was reportedly clocked at 124 mph when he was stopped.
Girl Scouts Boot Gilligan's Island Star Dawn Because of DUI, Pot Arrest
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel has reported that Dawn Wells, who played Mary Ann on the 1960s television show "Gilligan's Island," has been canceled from speaking at a Girl Scouts fundraiser because of a DUI and drug arrest. "We didn't feel it would be appropriate for her to speak under the circumstances…She would not be a good role model," said Holly Policy, spokesperson for the Jupiter, Florida-based chapter of the Girl Scouts. Wells had recently taken a plea deal and pleaded guilty to reckless driving in exchange for having DUI, drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance charges dropped. Wells was sentenced to five days in jail, six months probation, and nearly $500 in fines.
Jessica Sierra's Real Rehab Interferes with Celebrity Rehab Reunion
Former American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra's DUI issues have kept her from reuniting with a "Celebrity Rehab" reality reunion. Sierra is currently spending one year in a "real" rehab facility, as ordered by court for her DUI, and was unable to leave to attend the show. Sierra was charged with the DUI last fall before her "Celebrity Rehab" show aired. The reality show, led by Dr. Drew Pinsky, was about celebrities who were abusing substances and wanted to quit.
WWE's Kurt Angle Reportedly Speaks Out on DUI Arrest
PWMania.com has reported that professional wrestler Kurt Angle has spoken out to Wrestling-Radio.com about his DUI arrest last October. Angle said "some crazy lady" reported him to police because he accidentally cut her off in traffic, and the woman who reported him had had a DUI herself three weeks earlier. Angle claimed he had passed field sobriety tests but was arrested and charged because he refused a blood test. His next court date is unknown.
Lindsay Lohan on DUIs: No One Was Supportive
Actress Lindsay Lohan has told Us magazine that she felt that the media was "a little harsh" on her and that she felt that nobody supported her during her two DUI arrests last year and three stints in rehab. Hudgens was reportedly weary of the drama that Lindsay Lohan's younger sibling might bring to the set. Earth to Vanessa: they are not the same person, and you're no Diva. Lighten up.
Tamara Mitchell Ford: 43-Year Old DUI Poster Child
Tamara Mitchell-Ford has been arrested, charged, and jailed for DUI so many times that it's difficult to keep all the facts straight. The former wife of former Tennessee state Senator John Ford was recently charged with two more DUIs while serving time in jail for violating two other DUI probations. Mitchell-Ford's attorney said he hopes to reach a plea deal with prosecutors and plead guilty to both new charges. If a deal is reached, Mitchell-Ford's sentence for the two DUIs, which were from September and October of 2007, will be added to her current jail sentence and she would be released from jail in 2009. Meanwhile, John Ford, Mitchell-Ford's ex-husband, is set to begin his own 66-month jail sentence for bribery. He's been able to stay out of jail so far because the couple has three children who need at least one parent out of jail to care for them.
Panthers' Dwayne Jarrett Arrested for DUI
United Press International has reported that Dwayne Jarrett, a wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers, was arrested for suspicion of DUI. The athlete, 21, was arrested for a traffic stop when a police officer smelled alcohol. Jarrett reportedly failed a roadside sobriety test. He was released on $1,000 bail from the Mint Hill, North Carolina police station. No court date has been announced.
Heidi Fleiss Comments to Newsweek About DUI
Former Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss spoke out in Newsweek about her recent DUI arrest in Nevada. While granting an interview on an unrelated matter, Fleiss was asked about her DUI. "Eh, you know, whatever it is, I don't care," she said, "Whether they send me to county jail, whether it's drug court, I don't care. Get it over with." When asked about people who had been "making fun" of her DUI mugshot, Fleiss said, "It's the worst picture ever. I can't look like Miss America all the time." Fleiss was charged with a misdemeanor DUI last month, even though she was reportedly inebriated in a parked car at the time. She was also charged with driving without a license.
Paris Hilton's Teenage Brother Barron Charged with DUI
Barron Hilton, younger brother to the infamous Paris Hilton, was charged with four misdemeanors stemming from his DUI arrest in Malibu, California in February. Hilton, 18, was reportedly carrying a fake drivers license when he was arrested, and his blood alcohol content was .14, which is nearly twice the legal limit of .08 in California. His next court date is April 14. Barron's older sister Paris served time in a California jail last year for violating probation on her own DUI.

People magazine has reported that Lindsay Lohan has said she is "back on track" now that she is sober. Lohan spent time in three different rehab programs, had multiple car accidents, and was arrested for DUI in the past year. "My life was distracted by certain things that got in the way of work," Lohan said. Lohan said she's now working on a movie with Jack Black and David Arquette, and recording a new album.
Actress Mischa Barton's Attorney Will Reportedly Seek Plea Deal for DUI
Actress Mischa Barton's attorney has announced that he will try to negotiate a DUI plea deal so Barton can avoid jail. Barton was recently arrested and charged with DUI, drug possession, and driving without a license. Anthony Salerno, Barton's attorney, said he will ask for probation and alcohol awareness classes on April 10. This is Barton's first offense.

Former Mississippi State Senator Tommy Robertson's DUI Woes
Former Mississippi state Senator Tommy Robertson has reportedly resigned from a governor-appointed tax commission and has entered an alcohol rehabilitation program after he was arrested for DUI last week. She has been charged with DUI, driving with a blood alcohol level above .08, driving without a license, and possession of marijuana. Her arraignment is set for February 28.
Rebecca Broussard Sentenced to Jail for DUI
The Associated Press has reported that Rebecca Broussard, the baby mama to two of actor Jack Nicholson's children, has taken a plea deal and was sentenced to five days in jail. Broussard, 44, was arrested last August after a car crash in Los Angeles. Broussard pleaded no contest to the charges in exchange for getting a felony DUI charge dropped, and will get five days in jail and three years of probation. Additionally, she was sentenced to 30 days of community service and an alcohol treatment program.
Mike Tyson Speaks Out on Sobriety, DUI, and Upcoming Movie
With actor Jamie Foxx reportedly set to take on the movie role of controversial boxer Mike Tyson, Tyson himself has spoken out about his life and his struggle with substance abuse. Tyson was arrested last year for multiple DUI and drug possession charges. Tyson told news reporters, "Even when I was training for a fight, there were no drugs, but I would drink. I had never been clean and sober my whole life." Tyson insists that a substance abuse program helped him get clean: "This is the first time. I'm tired of losing. I lost the trust of my family, my five kids. I didn't like that way of life and decided to change. I saw the devil and didn't want that."
NHL Player David Legwand Charged with DUI
NHL Nashville Predators player David Legwand has been charged with DUI, according to Nashville, Tennessee police. Legwand was arrested in mid-February after a police officer pulled him over for speeding. The officer noticed that Legwand had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. The hockey player, who reportedly just signed a $27 million contract with the Predators, reportedly refused a breathalyzer test during his arrest. Legwand will appear in court March 12.

Former Madam Heidi Fleiss Arrested for DUI
The Smoking Gun website has reported that former Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DUI in Nevada, even though she had not yet driven her parked vehicle when she was arrested. Fleiss was also charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs and driving without a license. Nevada police reportedly received a tip about a drunken driver when they approached Fleiss, who was at the wheel of her vehicle, but not driving. She was released on bond shortly after the arrest.
Vivica Fox Advised Nicole Richie on DUI: "Get a Driver"
Finally, someone in Hollywood has figured out what the rest of us have been saying all along: hire a driver. Vivica Fox, who pleaded no contest to DUI last December, claims she learned to hire a driver after her DUI troubles and told reporters backstage at the BET Awards that she advised Nicole Richie to do the same. Nicole Richie has been arrested twice for DUI and served time in jail for it. "It's a lesson I definitely learned. No one is above the law," said Fox.

The San Jose Mercury News has reported that California Congressional candidate Theodore Terbolizard was arrested for DUI and speeding after Grass Valley, California police stopped him for speeding. The GOP candidate took a breathalyzer, but police have not yet reported results. Terbolizard is from Cedar Ridge, California and running for the seat that Republican Representative John Doolittle has vacated. Actor Mel Gibson is scheduled for a compliance hearing on his DUI probation on February 15. The actor was the first of a long string of high-profile celebrities arrested in California for DUI. During his arrest, a drunken Gibson made anti-semitic remarks. Gibson, who produced the movie "Passion of the Christ," later apologized for his remarks, but headlines of the arrest made worldwide news. Actresses Sean Young, Eva Mendes Enter Rehab: No DUI Required
Although neither were ever stopped and charged with a DUI, actresses Eva Mendes and Sean Young have perhaps learned from the pain of others before them and entered rehab. Rapper Busta Rhymes Pleads Guilty to DUI, Other Charges
The rapper known as Busta Rhymes accepted a surprising plea deal in a New York court in exchange for not facing jail time. Rhymes had previously stated that he would go to trial. Rhymes pled guilty to DUI, driving on a suspended license, and two counts of assault. He received three years of probation and $750 in fines, and will do community service at a private, "court-approved" location. Any probation violations will mean up to one year in jail for the rapper.
Lil Wayne Gets a Lil Freaked Out over Drug Charges
The rapper known as Lil Wayne led an incoherent, rambling rant onstage that has Internet gawkers speculating that he has serious drug or alcohol issues. Though the singer's intention was to deny drug use after he was released from an Arizona jail on felony drug possession charges, the singer's rant denied drug use. "I am my drug, understand me?" he said, along with, "Junkies can't do what the…[expletive] I do!" Wayne was charged with possession of a narcotic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, and weapons misconduct. Tracy Morgan Reportedly Spotted Boozing again after DUI
Two New York newspapers have reported that Tracy Morgan is very much off the wagon, despite his DUI troubles. The New York Post and the Daily News both reported that the actor/comedian was spotted at The Plumm in New York last week, where he was reportedly standing on a bar, shirtless, searching for his credit card. Morgan has two prior DUIs and was ordered to wear a SCRAM bracelet, which he refused to wear at one point. His wife is reportedly divorcing him because of his drinking. At least Morgan did not drive home—he reportedly left in a limousine.
Former Seahawks QB Warren Moon to Soon Appear in DUI Court
Former Seattle Seahawks Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon, 51, will appear in a Seattle, Washington court February 5th to answer to his December DUI charges. Moon was arrested and charged with DUI after being stopped for an expired registration sticker. Moon reportedly refused sobriety tests. This is his second DUI charge. He was arrested last April for DUI and took a plea deal last August that resulted in a negligent driving charge.

Hollywood writer Roger Avary, who co-wrote "Pulp Fiction" with Quentin Tarantino, was reportedly arrested for felony DUI and suspicion of manslaughter after he was involved in a car crash that killed a man who was visiting him from Italy. Avary, his wife Gretchen, and friend Andreas Zini of Italy were driving in Ojai, California when the vehicle crashed. The collision killed Zini. Avary issued an apology. His wife, Gretchen, is currently hospitalized.
Clinton Advisor Sidney Blumenthal Busted for DUI
Just one day before the New Hampshire primary, Hillary Clinton's senior advisor and former White House aide Sidney Blumenthal was arrested for aggravated DWI in Nashua, New Hampshire. Blumenthal reportedly was pulled over for speeding when police noticed signs of intoxication. Blumenthal reportedly failed a field sobriety test and refused a breathalyzer. Blumenthal will be arraigned January 31.
'Lost' Star Michelle Rodriguez Out of Jail After Serving DUI Sentence
She once was Lost but now she's found. Michelle Rodriguez is finally out of the clink after serving 18 days for violating probation on a DUI. Rodriguez was released from jail early, according to the Associated Press, as part of a jail overcrowding program. Rodriguez was sent to jail after she failed to prove that she had done the community service a judge had ordered, as well as for drinking while wearing a SCRAM ankle bracelet. Rodriguez was arrested in 2003 and 2005 for DUI.
Oklahoma Lawmaker John Trebilcock Alters His DUI Plea Deal
Oklahoma State Representative John Trebilcock has successfully withdrawn his no contest misdemeanor DUI plea from last July and entered a plea of reckless driving. An Oklahoma judge had agreed last July that if Trebilcock fulfilled his probation terms, he could withdraw his original plea and enter a plea to a lesser charge. Trebilcock reportedly did just that—according to news reports, he completed 10 days of community service for the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended a drug and alcohol education program. He also paid $750 in fines. He has pleaded no contest to reckless driving.

The Newport Beach Police Department has reported that "Boy Meets World" former child star Danielle Fischel was arrested on an outstanding DUI warrant. Fischel was reportedly pulled over for a vehicle code violation when police found that she had an outstanding arrest warrant for a reported past DUI. Fischel was arrested and released on bail. A court date has not been announced.
Head of California Parole Board to Resign After DUI Incident
The San Jose Mercury News has reported that the director of California's parole board will lose his job after he and another state employee were arrested for drunken driving while working. John Monday and Bobby Rodriguez of the California parole board were in a state-owned vehicle when police stopped them in Merced County in November. Rodriguez, a Deputy Parole Commissioner, was charged with DUI during the routine traffic stop. Monday, who heads up the Parole Board, and was a passenger in the vehicle, will resign from his position December 31 because of the incident.

Cincinnati Bengals' Odell Thurman Applies for Reinstatement After DUI
Suspended Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman has asked the NFL to reinstate him. Thurman was suspended for a year after the NFL found that he violated the NFL substance abuse policy. Thurman's first application for reinstatement, last July, was denied by the league. Thurman was advised in July that he could re-apply after the end of the 2007 season. Thurman was suspended in 2006 for four games, then suspended for one year after he was arrested for a DUI in September 2007.

Rock Star Scott Weiland Charged with DUI
Rocker Scott Weiland of the Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver was charged this week with driving under the influence of drugs after a car crash in late November. He reportedly refused blood and urine tests. Weiland, who was charged with a DUI in 2004, could be jailed for up to eight days if he is convicted of a second offense. He was released on $40,000 bond. Weiland has had many drug-related legal run-ins and served five months in jail in 1999 for possession of heroin.
NHL's John LeClair Pleads Guilty to DUI
Former National Hockey League player John LeClair pleaded guilty to DUI in a Burlington, Vermont District Court. LeClair was arrested for DUI last October. The player refused to take a blood alcohol test. This was his second arrest for DUI. LeClair was arrested in 1990, but took a plea deal. That charge was reduced to negligent driving.
No Additional Charges for Gary Collins in DUI Death
Former talk show host Gary Collins will not be charged for the death of the man who caused the car accident that resulted in a DUI charge for Collins. The driver, who was 89 years old, was found to be at fault for the accident and later died. Collins was arrested at the scene of the accident for having a blood alcohol content above the California legal limit of .08. He checked into rehab shortly thereafter. Collins was sentenced to four days in jail and four years' probation but will not face wrongful death charges.

NBA's Keon Clark Wins DUI Jail Appeal
The Associated Press has reported that an Illinois judge has overturned a ruling that would have basketball player Keon Clark spending more than two years in jail for DUI, drug, and weapons charges. Judge Michael Clary ruled that Clark should have another hearing because he had no legal representation when he was sentenced. Clark was arrested on a bus in Houston in late October for outstanding alcohol, drug, and weapon-related charges. Clark told the court that he "never played sober" and has been in an alcohol treatment program. A new hearing date has not been set.

Actor Ray Liotta Takes DUI Plea Deal
The Boston Herald and other news sources have reported that actor Ray Liotta has taken a DUI plea deal in a Los Angeles Superior Court. Liotta was arrested for DUI last February in Los Angeles after he plowed his SUV into several parked cars. Although preliminary police reports indicated that the substance in question was reportedly not alcohol, Liotta will enroll in alcohol education classes and pay off his victims. He was sentenced to three years probation. Liotta's attorney reportedly told the court that Liotta had "unexpected drowsiness" from prescription medication interactions. People magazine has reported that actor Kiefer Sutherland has begun serving his 48-day DUI jail sentence in a Glendale, California jail. What—he's not good enough for Paris Hilton's jail cell? Sutherland was sentenced to jail time after reportedly violating probation on a 2004 DUI arrest. Police have reported that Sutherland will sport a fashionable orange jumpsuit while classified as a "long term inmate." Unlike Hilton, he'll be asked to perform laundry and kitchen duties in the jail. Sutherland now gets five years probation and will undergo an 18-month alcohol education program. The son of actor Donald Sutherland reportedly lashed out at fans and refused to sign autographs after photos of his DUI transgression were published in a newspaper.
Gary Collins Sentenced to Four Days in Jail for DUI
The Associated Press has reported that squeaky clean former talk show host Gary Collins has been sentenced to four days in a Los Angeles area jail for crashing into an 89-year old driver. Actress Vivica A. Fox has taken a DUI plea deal and pleaded no contest in a Van Nuys, California courtroom for her March DUI arrest. This guy, however, is the House Majority Leader since 1993: Kumar Barve. Gaithersburg police arrested Barve after he exited a parking lot through a gate marked "entrance only." The lawmaker admitted to having two drinks and was reportedly found to have a blood alcohol content of .10, which is above the legal limit in Maryland of .08. He was charged with DUI, driving while impaired, failure to obey a traffic device, and failure to drive right of the center line. Barve sponsored the DUI bill that changed the legal drinking limit from .10 to .08.
Former Yankees Exec Steve Swindal Pleads No Contest to DUI
Former New York Yankees leader Steve Swindal pleaded no contest to DUI for his February arrest in St. Petersburg, Florida. Swindal's license will be suspended for six months and he will attend DUI school and perform 50 hours of community service. Swindal was arrested for a DUI on the same day that he was served divorce papers from his wife, who is the daughter of Yankees owner George Steinbrenner.

Denver Broncos quarterback Darrell Hackney has been arrested for suspicion of DUI, according to KUSA-TV in Denver, Colorado. Hackney, 24, was reportedly stopped by Colorado police and arrested. Tony LaRussa Pleads Guilty to DUI
St. Louis Cardinals Manager Tony LaRussa surprised a Palm Beach County circuit court by pleading guilty to DUI. LaRussa was arrested and charged with a DUI last March. In a letter to the court, La Russa thanked two police departments and other authorities. He wrote, "I genuinely believe that this decision is in the best interest of all concerned... I accept full responsibility for my conduct, and assure everyone that I have learned a very valuable lesson and that this will never occur again." Tamara Mitchell Ford's Ex John Ford Lucks Out Because of DUI
Oh, what a dynamic duo they make! Former Tennessee state senator John Ford was able to stay out of jail a bit longer because his ex-wife, Tamara Mitchell-Ford, is currently locked up for repeat DUI offenses. John Ford was set to begin a 5 ½ year jail term for bribery on December 12, but a U.S. District Court judge recently granted a motion to postpone his incarceration until his ex-wife, Tamara Mitchell Ford, completes her one year DUI jail sentence. John Ford currently has custody of the couple's four children, who range in age from 2 to 15. Ford's next hearing is set for February 27.
Washington Sheriff's Deputy Arrested Twice in Two Hours for DUI
A Pierce County, Washington sheriff's deputy has been arrested for DUI twice in two hours and has been suspended from his position. Robert Glen Carpenter, 37, pleaded not guilty to DUI after he was stopped and arrested at 12:30 a.m. for suspicion of DUI. Police found a beer can in his vehicle after stopping him for speeding. According to police reports, his blood alcohol content was reportedly .21, which is more than twice the legal limit of .08 in the state of Washington. He was released and stopped again at 2:44 a.m., when his blood alcohol content was reportedly .17. Carpenter was not available for comment.

Still fresh from rehab in Utah, Lindsay Lohan made a quick stop at Lynwood Jail to serve her time for DUI. The starlet spent 2 minutes longer than Nicole Richie in prison - she was there for 84 minutes! She checked into Lynwood at 10:30 a.m. and was out by 11:54 a.m., and that counts as a day in jail. She is doing community service at the local Red Cross to fulfill the rest of her sentence.
Mickey Rourke Gets DUI on a Scooter
In the early morning hours of November 8th, actor Mickey Rourke was arrested for DUI in Miami Beach. Rourke was driving his little green Vespa scooter and apparently did an illegal U-turn in front of a cop. Before Rourke's arrest, he and a female friend had been seen going into a bar at around 2 am and coming out about two hours later. Police reported that his face was flushed and his eyes were bloodshot, but he insisted that he didn't have "that much" to drink.
Nick Hogan's License Suspended
Nick Hogan, the son of Hulk and Linda Hogan, has been charged with reckless driving and his driver's license has been suspended in connection with the tragic accident that left his friend, John Graziano, in a vegetative state. The Hogans say that speed wasn't a factor in the accident and that Graziano was so badly injured because he failed to wear a seatbelt. Although Nick was not charged with DUI, the police report indicates that he did have alcohol in his blood at the time of the crash.
Mike Tyson Serves His Time
Former boxing superstar Mike Tyson has paid his debt to society. Tyson spent a day in Arizona's Tent City Jail wearing prison stripes and pink underwear. In September, Tyson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence (DUI) and one felony count of cocaine possession and was sentenced to one day in jail and three years probation. Dr. Jan Adams Has DUI Record
After the death of Dr. Donda West, all of the media outlets started digging for dirt on Dr. Jan Adams, the doctor who performed West's cosmetic surgery. Garrison was also ordered to pay $300k in restitution. Judge Elden Fox told Garrison, "I think you are ultimately a decent human being who made a very bad mistake." Lakers Owner Jerry Buss Misses Season Opener over DUI Suspension

Georgia Judge Arrested for DUI
The Associated Press has reported that Chattooga County, Georgia judge Carlton Vines has been arrested for DUI after he reportedly left the scene of a crash. Vines's vehicle reportedly hit a pickup truck and then sped away. A witness called 911 to report the crash and identified Vines' plate numbers. Vines refused a blood test, but was arrested in his Trion, Georgia home later that day. He was released on $4,000 bail. This is Vines' second offense; in 2003, he pleaded no contest to DUI charges also.

NFL Reinstates Koren Robinson After DUI Suspension
The Sports Network has reported that Green Bay Packers' wide receiver Koren Robinson's year-long suspension is over and the player will be reinstated into the NFL. Robinson was suspended after he was arrested for DUI in 2006. The DUI arrest violated probation from a DUI conviction in 2005. Robinson was suspended by the NFL for one year. Robinson had formerly played for the Minnesota Vikings, who fired him after his DUI difficulties.
Former NBA Star Keon Clark Arrested as DUI Fugitive
Former NBA player Keon Clark was arrested by U.S. Marshalls for prior DUI and weapons charges in Illinois. The player was boarding a bus to Houston when U.S. Marshalls arrested him for evading the law for DUI, weapons possession, marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license. Clark was arrested without incident outside Splendora, Texas and sent to the San Jacinto, Texas Jail. Clark has played for several basketball teams, including the Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns, and Denver Nuggets.

Chief Spokeswoman for Canadian Politician Arrested for DUI
Melissa Ridgen, chief spokeswoman for Hugh McFadyen and the Manitoba Progressive Conservative Party in Canada, was arrested for DUI in Brandon, Manitoba. Ridgen was reportedly driving a friend home when she was stopped by police and given a sobriety test. "I was out for a late dinner and drinks with a couple of friends," said Ridgen. "I had one too many glasses of wine obviously, and I take full responsibility for that." Ridgen has indicated that she plans to plead Guilty to the charge and has said she is "completely respectful of the tough drinking and driving laws [in Canada]." McFayden expressed support of Ridgen: "She'll carry on as a valuable member of our team who will learn a valuable lesson," he said.
Seattle's City Council Hopeful Venus Velázquez Arrested for DUI
The Seattle Times has reported that Seattle City Council candidate Venus Velázquez was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Velázquez said she had attended a candidate dinner and had had two drinks before driving home. "I stayed long enough until I believed I was not impaired," she said. "I do not believe I was impaired or I would have not driven home." According to the police report, Velázquez was stopped for speeding and the officer notice "a strong minty smell" indicating that the driver may have ingested mints to cover up the smell of alcohol. Velázquez declined to take a breathalyzer test and was cited for DUI, speeding, and one other traffic offense. Her opponent said, "My prayers are with her family. I'm going to remain focused on my platform."

Kiefer Sutherland Gets Sweetheart DUI Plea Deal
Actor Kiefer Sutherland pleaded no contest to misdemeanor DUI charges after an arrest two weeks ago in West Los Angeles, California. Sutherland accepted a plea deal, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney's office. Sutherland did not appear in court. In exchange for pleading no contest to driving with a blood alcohol content above the legal limit of .08, DUI charges were dropped. As part of the deal, Sutherland faced misdemeanor charges instead of felony charges, and the Los Angeles City Attorney's office recommended only 48 days in jail for Sutherland's third alcohol-related offense. In California, a state known for strict DUI laws, this is considered by many to be quite a deal. Sutherland will be sentenced December 21st in a Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Actress Lindsay Lohan Reportedly Needs Cash after DUI Woes
Lindsay Lohan, who was charged with a much-publicized DUI last July, has reportedly told friends that she wasted millions of dollars on her wayward lifestyle. According to a report by the tabloid News of the World, Lohan has moved in with Tom Gores, executive producer of her recent film, because she can not afford her own home. An unnamed source told the tabloid, "Lindsay doesn't have much choice as she is totally broke. The only reason she's coming back to [Los Angeles], is to earn some money fast." Lohan reportedly spent "a fortune" on rehab this year following her DUI in July. She still thinks nothing of blowing thousands of dollars on a single night of partying."
Six Years in Prison for Director Bob Clark's DUI Killer
Hector Manual Velazquez-Nava, the man who was charged with killing filmmaker Bob Clark and his son in a DUI crash last April, pleaded no contest to gross vehicular manslaughter charges and was sentenced to six years in prison. The sentence was part of a plea deal. Clark directed A Christmas Story, American Pie, and Porky's. Velazquez-Nava's blood alcohol content was .24, which is three times the legal limit in California.
Michelle Rodriguez Speaks Out on Jail Time, DUI, and Probation
The Boston Herald has reported that a representative for former "Lost" star Michelle Rodriguez has posted a response on Rodriguez' official MySpace page about violating probation in her DUI case. "She will be fine," said the entry. "Just hours after this ruling [that Rodriguez will get six months in jail], she is as positive as ever," said the MySpace entry. According to the Los Angeles City Attorney's office, Rodriguez was sentenced to six months in jail after she reportedly failed to complete her community service sentence as part of her DUI probation, and consumed alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet. Rodriguez is set to report to the Los Angeles County Jail on December 24.

Sacramento Monarchs' Rebekkah Brunson Apologizes for DUI Arrest
Rebekkah Brunson, a forward for the Sacramento Monarchs, has apologized for her arrest for suspicion of DUI. "I am very embarrassed and ashamed, and I am well aware of the seriousness of the situation," she said in a statement recently. Actress Lindsay Lohan Leaves Rehab
Actress Lindsay Lohan has reportedly completed her 8-week addiction treatment at the Cirque Lodge Treatment Center is Utah. Lohan was arrested for DUI in late July and entered rehab in August. Her stay at Cirque was Lohan's third attempt at rehab this year. Lohan issued a statement to the media in August that said, "It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs." The actress, 21, will begin shooting a new movie soon and will reportedly continue treatment as an outpatient at a Cirque-affiliated facility.

Actor Kiefer Sutherland has reportedly hired attorney Richard Hutton as an advisor on his pending DUI case. Hutton was on Paris Hilton's legal team when she was charged with DUI and subsequently went to jail. Sutherland's attorney Blair Berk will remain on the case as Sutherland's primary attorney. Tampa Bay Tight End Jerramy Stevens to Appeal Arizona DUI
A judge in a Scottsdale, Arizona sentenced Tampa Bay Buccaneer tight end Jerramy Stevens to 12 days in jail for DUI. Stevens was also fined more than $3,000. Stevens' attorney, James Nesci, indicated that he will appeal the case. Stevens was arrested last March in Scottsdale for DUI. According to police reports, his blood alcohol content was .24, which is more than double the .08 legal limit in Arizona. Stevens reportedly admitted to police that he had been drinking Margaritas before his arrest. Stevens has a prior DUI charge in Seattle, in 2003.
Tank Johnson on DUI, Other Legal Issues: "I'm Not a Bad Guy"
Defensive tackle Tank Johnson will try to persuade NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to reduce his eight-game suspension to six games. Johnson was suspended for violating the league's personal conduct after being arrested for a DUI and several other serious legal scuffles, including illegal weapons charges and a bar scuffle in Chicago that killed Johnson's friend. "I'm not a bad guy," Johnson reportedly told a Chicago Tribune reporter recently. "I know my heart. I know the wrong that I've done," Johnson said, "[I have take] a real long look in the mirror." Johnson will meet with Goodell soon to hear his fate in the NFL and find out whether Goodell will reduce his suspension. Johnson was arrested for DUI in Arizona last June and has had so many legal problems that he had to petition the NFL to play in the Superbowl. Johnson was not charged with a DUI in the June incident because his blood alcohol content was found to be below the Arizona limit of .08.

Lakers' Center Kwame Brown Charged in Cousin's DUI Scuffle
The Associated Press has reported that L.A. Lakers Center Kwame Brown has been arrested in Valdosta, Georgia on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct for his actions during the DUI arrest of his cousin, Charles Warren, Jr. According to police reports, Brown was disruptive and tried to interfere with the DUI arrest of his cousin, who was stopped for driving Brown's vehicle the wrong way down a one-way street. Brown has claimed that he was not in the car at the time with his cousin. L.A. Lakers coach Phil Jackson has said that he is waiting "for the full report" on the incident. "Kwame apologized. It's a misdemeanor. It's not against the club's rules what he did," said Jackson.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays first-year pitching coach Jim Hickey has been charged with DUI, resisting arrest, and rear-ending another vehicle. Hickey was arrested near Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay, Florida and released on $900 bond after a reported hit-and-run accident. His blood alcohol content was not released.
WWE's Kurt Angle Charged with DUI; Attorney Disputes Charges
Professional wrestler and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle was charged with DUI in Moon Township, Pennsylvania after another driver complained to police that someone had been driving erratically and hit his vehicle in a restaurant parking lot. The driver reported Angle's license plate numbers. Angle's defense attorney Mike Santicola said the DUI charges had "no basis" and told reporters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that police had "no firsthand knowledge of him operating a vehicle" and "there's no evidence of his being intoxicated when he was operating that vehicle." If convicted, Angle could lose his license for one year.
